  • STUDIO 12 2525 Eighth Street Berkeley, CA 94710 (map)

Have you ever wondered why actors wear masks in a show? Come learn how a mask influences a performer’s character as you participate in a fun, creative, physical, and liberating theater mask workshop. At this special hands-on opportunity for artists of all skill levels, participants will explore traditional and innovative techniques using contemporary creative paper masks. Learn about historic mask usage in the days of Commedia Dell'arte as we focus on understanding the mask, making the mask come alive, and activating the body while working with the mask.

Learn the basics of the mask art form with renowned theater artists and teachers Valentina Emeri and Giulio Perrone.
