Inferno Theatre in collaboration with Actors Ensemble of Berkeley present FREE in Berkeley's lovely John Hinkel Park Amphitheatre, William Shakespeare’s KING LEAR, adapted and directed by Giulio Cesare Perrone. An ensemble production which condenses and intensifies this seminal family tragedy with striking visuals, physicality and live music. Gender is fluid with many male roles presented as female.

Saturdays and Sundays from August 22nd to September 6th, with a special show on Monday, September 7st (Labor Day). All shows start at 4 p.m. The amphitheater opens at 3 p.m. for picnicing.

The first few rows of the amphitheater will be reserved as a courtesy especially for those with limited mobility. Call 510-788-6415 to reserve one of those spots. The amphitheater is wheelchair accessible - access is best from Somerset Place, take Southampton from Arlington and continue straight onto Somerset Place. The amphitheatre consists of a series of stone terraces. Bring low lawn chairs or pillows/cushions and/or blankets.
